Insures these students develop the competencies to offer quality child welfare and social work services. Increases child welfare capacity to serve a diverse population and educate program participants so that they will be able to serve and advocate for culturally different families. Encourages a high retention rate of these students when they are employed in public child welfare. Enhances the collaborative relationships between the School of Social Work and the county Department of Social Services.
