Meet Our New Associate Director!

We are very excited to announce that Dr. Jong Won Min is the new Associate Director! Dr. Min has been with the School of Social Work since 2000. Over the years as an Associate Professor, Dr. Min has been able to share his knowledge with undergraduate and Master level students. The moment you meet Dr. Min you feel his passion for educating students about the fields of gerontology and social work.
Dr. Min’s scholarly areas include: health disparities, social determinants of health, and ethnic enclaves and chronic disease management among Asian American elders, minority aging, long-term care, cultural diversity, and alcohol abuse. He teaches classes on gerontology and social work research.
Dr. Min earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Yonsei University in Seoul Korea. Dr. Min moved to Canada where he went on to earn his Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary. In 2001 he earned his Ph.D with a focus on Social Welfare from UCLA. We are happy to have him in this new position.
