What made you decide to enroll in the School of Social Work at SDSU?
Having had the opportunity to live in two different countries (United States of America and Israel), I’ve always valued the importance of diversity and cultural competence. With that, after doing extensive research, I found that San Diego State University’s School of Social Work was rich in both of these areas. The faculty and student body both reflected what it is I hold true to any college experience which is to listen and learn from different people and broaden my knowledge on cultures outside of my own.
What has been your most memorable experience in the School?
My most memorable memories are definitely with my classmates and the faculty. It has truly made my experience extraordinary by having likeminded individuals by my side during this entire experience.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans are to continue my education at California State University San Marcos to obtain my Masters in Social Work in the fall of 2017.
What are some of your favorite aspects of the program?
The commitment and integrity of the faculty to their students are what I love most. The staff in the School of Social Work was the embodiment of what the NASW Code of Ethics teaches. Their continuous encouragement and support to me and other students provided a positive influence that many students need in order to persevere.
Describe why you would recommend SDSU to potential students.
Located in San Diego, aside from the beautiful weather that comes with it, SDSU promotes diversity in culture, education, languages, ethnicities and inclusion. By being able to enjoy these aspects of my college experience, SDSU provided an atmosphere like no other, an atmosphere that people of all ages and ethnicities can enjoy!
