What made you decide to enroll in the School of Social Work at SDSU?
Ever since career day in second grade I knew that I wanted to help others. At first, it was my dream to become a nurse. While that route didn’t work out, it lead me to where I am today, and I couldn’t be more thankful. It was during my first introductory course to Social Work that I knew I was heading in the right direction. With Social Work as a profession, I realized I could reach different communities and help people in ways I never imagined.
What have been your most memorable experience in the school?
While attending SDSU, I have created a lot of memories to look back on. The most memorable experience has been the many friendships I have made. Within every class, student organization, and sports team, I have made strong connections with other students that I believe will last a lifetime.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I plan on applying for graduate school, where I would like to specialize in administration and community development. My goal is to have a center for children with disabilities.
What are some of your favorite aspects of the program?
I have so many great things I can say about this program. The most important is the support network. Not only from my peers, but from all the professors in this program as well. Combined, they have provided the best support system a student could have. Another is the curriculum; all of the classes have such an impact on my education and insight for this career.
Describe why you would recommend SDSU to potential students.
I could say the obvious reasons why potential students should attend SDSU: the great weather and beaches! But SDSU has so much more to offer: a quality education, highly motivated professors, a wide variety of majors, and a strong cohort.
