Dr. Eunjeong Ko and colleagues will be conducting a feasibility and acceptability study in Imperial County focused on developing a breast cancer survivorship plan for rural Latina cancer patients. The project “Proyecto Mariposa: Cancer survivorship care planning for rural Latina breast cancer patients” will unfold in two phases. The first phase will include a series of focus groups designed to help develop and adapt a theory-and-empirically-based approach to providing individualized survivorship care planning in a culturally competent manner to Latina breast cancer patients. Phase II will entail assessing the feasibility and acceptability of the adapted survivorship care planning intervention. The overarching goal of this project is to help decrease cancer disparities in this population of women in the Imperial Valley.
