The School of Social Work is pleased to introduce Jennifer Seneor, who is joining as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the SDSU/HHSA Liaison role under the School’s Cal IV-E project. Jenny earned her BA in Sociology from UCLA and completed her MSW at San Diego State University in 2018 as a Title IV-E student.

Following completion of her MSW at SDSU, Jenny worked with Child Welfare Services for the County of San Diego through 2023. During that time, she served as a Protective Services Worker across multiple departments, including Emergency Response, Continuing Services, and Open Case Investigations. She also contributed to county-wide workgroups addressing disparities impacting LGBTQ+ youth and served on an Executive Committee focused on strengthening the Safety Enhanced Together (SEP) framework to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families involved in the child welfare system.

In recent years, Jenny has been in private practice, utilizing approaches such as Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), attachment and relational theories, and mindful self-compassion. Her clinical work is grounded in a strong commitment to supporting individuals navigating complex trauma, grief, and intergenerational trauma. Prior to earning her MSW, Jenny spent several years in the nonprofit sector, providing leadership in strategic planning, program development, budgeting, and staff supervision for a team of over 40 employees.

In her role as SDSU/HHSA Liaison, Jenny will support Cal IV-E students and County employees in successfully completing their internships and transitioning into employment. She will work closely with students to enhance their learning experiences, support field instructors in providing meaningful supervision, and facilitate monthly workshops aligned with Cal IV-E Child Welfare Practice Behaviors (EPAS). Jenny will also play a key role in strengthening the partnership between SDSU and the County to ensure high-quality, purposeful internship experiences.

Jenny is partnered and a parent to two young children. She enjoys books, music, animals, nature, and mindfulness. As a first-generation American, she takes pride in her lineage from North Africa and Eastern and Northwestern Europe.

Please join the School of Social Work in welcoming Jenny to the community. The School looks forward to the contributions she will make in this role.
