Dr. Keeney received her Ph.D. from Colorado State University and MSW from Eastern Washington University with certifications in Public Administration and School Social Work.
Currently, Dr. Keeney is a lecturer and field faculty for the School of Social Work at San Diego State University and a research associate for the High Plains Intermountain Center for Agriculture Health and Safety (HICHAS). Prior to her teaching appointments, she was the Senior Research Analyst for the Social Policy Institute. Her research interests focus on the role community networks have in improving children, youth, and family outcomes in rural, agrarian communities.
Additionally, she holds her Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work for the state of California and has prior experience working as a behavioral therapist in Washington State’s public schools. She is a past board member of Washington State’s Institutional Review Board and an adjunct instructor for Colorado State University, Eastern Washington University, and California State University San Marcos.
