Child Welfare, Training, Mental Health, Human Trafficking/CSEC
Ms. Shackelford, MSW, LCSW is currently The Training Development Manager and a County Consultant for the Academy for Professional Excellence, Public Child Welfare Training Academy (PCWTA). Ms. Shackelford teaches and provides training to Child Welfare staff through PCWTA, Bay Area Academy, and the San Diego County Regional Training Center. She trains on a variety of child welfare related topics and also co-trains a four part certificated Training for Training series through PCWTA. Ms. Shackelford is the lead researcher and trainer on Human Trafficking and CSEC for the PCWTA program in the Southern, CA region. Ms. Shackelford has worked with at risk children and families since 1991 in a variety of settings and was employed by the County of San Diego Child Welfare Services Program for over 14 years and worked in, permanency programs, front end, ILS and foster care/adoption recruitment services. Ms. Shackelford received her MSW from SDSU and her B.A from CSUDH. Ms. Shackelford served as a committee member on the Commission for Children Youth and Family in San Diego. Ms. Shackelford is currently a member of the American Psychological Association, Psi Chi, National Association of Social Workers and San Diego Association of Black Social Workers. In her spare time Ms. Shackelford enjoys mentoring, volunteering, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
