Biography
Paul Brazzel has seventeen years of working with children youth and families in the areas of early education, foster care, and child and family therapy. Early in his career, his work in a residential treatment center in Oregon sparked his interest in social work and led him to pursue his MSW at SDSU. His many years as a school social worker have given him expertise in positive behavior supports, human development, and restorative practices. Paul has worked closely with school administration and teachers to improve school culture by analyzing school survey data and encouraging implementation of social emotional curriculum across all grades. He has supported students and families individually and by partnering with community agencies. Further, he has been a school district trainer for Restorative Practices and Trauma Informed Practices. Paul is dedicated to supporting and developing professional social workers. He has been a field instructor for SDSU’s School of Social Work since 2003 and clinically supervises social workers toward their licensure. He is looking forward to his new role as a Lecturer and PPSC Coordintor.
