BASW

The California Title IV-E Child Welfare Stipend Program provides a $15,000 taxable stipend for educational support in the final year of study of the Bachelor of Social Work degree at SDSU.  The desired student applicant is committed to pursuing a career in public or tribal child welfare services in order to improve and provide socially just, culturally relevant services to improve family and community well-being.

The full-time BASW student applies for the stipend in January of the junior year.

Applicants are reviewed and selected by a joint SDSU-County Awards Selection Committee.

The stipend recipient assumes certain responsibilities, including coursework requirements, and the post-graduation employment requirement.  See the BASW Stipend Requirements page.
