Human Services Management
A Human Services Management Certificate is offered by the Network for Social Work Management.
To receive the certificate, a student needs to have completed SW 632 (or, for Advanced Standing students, SW 671), 740, and 745; receive the MSW degree; and join the Network for SW Management (network membership is free to individuals). The current fee for the certificate is $50.
Alumni who received an MSW in Administration or Administration/ Community Development from SDSU since 2001 may also receive the certificate upon submitting a transcript and verification from the School. The current fee for alumni is $125
The Certificate is being offered by a growing number of social work programs, including some of the top programs in the country. The universities offering the certificate include Columbia, Tennessee, The University at Albany- SUNY, Rutgers, Michigan, USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Maryland, Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Arizona State, Portland State, Pittsburgh, and Hunter College-CUNY.
The benefits for this certificate include being able to use this on your resume, potential enhancement of career prospects, and all the benefits from Network membership (including webinars, local and national mentoring programs, blogs, Twitter chats, and career information.
