Social Workers of Color (SWC) Student Coalition
The purpose of this organization is to create an alliance for people who self-identify as a person of color within the Social Work department by reflecting and respecting our experiences within and beyond the BSW and MSW program. The purpose is also to highlight the core values of the NASW Code of Ethics, such as “dignity and worth of the person,” and “the importance of human relationship” by uplifting the voices of self-identified persons of color who lack representation within the SDSU Social Work Community. Graduate Social Work Association (GSWA) – Currently Inactive
The GSWA interfaces between the student body and the administration and faculty of the School of Social work. GSWA officers make effort to identify the needs and concerns of students and bring those issues to the attention of the faculty. Additionally, the GSWA organizes both academic and social activities for graduate students.

Latino Student Social Work Association (LSSWA)
To educate and mobilize social work students in the areas concerning the Latino population. Promote and improve the perception of the Latino culture. Our mission is to advance student knowledge of macro social work, equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in macro social work, provide students with opportunities to network with like-minded students and community leaders, and apply macro skills to benefit the community.

Phi Alpha Honor Society – Currently Inactive
The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.
College Health and Human Services Student Council (CHHSSC)
To unite all the college’s student organizations on a board. It meets on a biweekly basis. The function is to support and advocate for students and organizations within the CHHS.
