Dr. Renee El-Krab

Dr. El-Krab is a postdoctoral fellow in the Substance use, HIV, and Related Infections T32 at UCSD. Her work is focused on individual-, interpersonal-, and system-level barriers to engagement in healthcare across the globe. Her goal is to conduct research with direct application to improving the health of disenfranchised and underserved populations, including people with HIV and people who use drugs. She is most interested in advancing understanding of social dynamics that impact the health of marginalized populations toward developing interventions designed to remove stigma as well as other social and structural barriers to accessing care and maintaining health.
