California Association of School Social Workers Virtual Conference
SDSU School of Social Work Field faculty and PPS Coordinator Paul Brazzel is president of the California Association of School Social Workers, and this year the CASSW is hosting its first-ever all virtual state conference! The conference theme is Antiracist Social Work Practice in Schools: Examining Implicit Bias and Challenging Structural Racism, and will take place April 16th – 17th. Our very own Sylvia Telafaro will be doing a poetry reading for our CASSW state conference this Friday (4/16) to kick off the event! There are some amazing speakers and we are so excited to see the leadership and participation of our School of Social Work in this space! Our recent MSW alumna Brett Hall (2020) will also be presenting on her findings from her publishable paper on Restorative Practices on Saturday (4/17). We are so proud SDSU is representing for school social work and anti racist practices in social work! Please refer to the full conference brochure for more details.
