SD County highlights Dr. Jong Won Min for AAPI Month

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we’re highlighting influential AAPI social workers that have made great contributions to our field. I hope you’ll also take the time to recognize the contributions that our AAPI colleagues make every day impacting the lives of children and families in our community.

As a Korean American and immigrant, Dr. Min always remembers and incorporates his Asian roots and values to better serve faculty, staff and students. His primary areas of research include health disparities, social determinants of health, minority aging, long-term care and cultural diversity. His recent research includes a longitudinal analysis of cognitive changes over time among middle-aged and older Koreans. Dr. Min is a widely published author and co-author of peer reviewed articles in such publications as the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and the Oxford Handbook of Social Work in Health & Aging.
