Jocelyn Smith, a third year dual MSW and MPH student participated in the SDSU S3 Research Symposium this past weekend. She presented an oral presentation on her thesis research titled "Exploring the Knowledge and Attitudes of Emerging Health and Human Service Professionals Regarding Sexuality and Older Adults." This research examined the relationship between the sociodemographic backgrounds, knowledge and attitudes about sexual health and aging of 400 College of Health and Human Service undergraduate and graduate students in service of understanding drivers of sexual ageism. For her research, she was competitively awarded the "Library Award," which was given to best oral presentations projects that used library resources and collections. In addition, she competed in the first inaugural Three Minute Thesis Competition and won! This win qualifies Jocelyn to compete in the State Wide, CSU Grad Slam Competition, which will be hosted by California State University Long Beach on May 3rd.
