Norman Jackson announced as the Gerontology Program Coordinator
It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Norman Jackson, Ph.D. Candidate, MS, as the Gerontology Program Coordinator in the School of Social Work. In this newly created role, Mr. Jackson will collaborate with our team, campus and community colleagues to build a robust approach to enhancing the gerontology major and minor. Mr. Jackson’s appointment begins the Spring semester of 2022.
Mr. Jackson currently serves as a lecturer and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses since 2015. He serves as the faculty advisor for the Black Social Work Association. Currently, he is serving as a fellow with the American Society on Aging Rise program, dedicated to increasing leadership opportunities in the field for BIPOC professionals. He has a strong record of commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, equity, and diversity. We welcome his decades-long involvement with educational, criminal justice, and social services programs at local, county, and state levels.
